A recent systematic review analyzed the effects of B vitamins and omega 3 fatty acids supplementation on cognition in older adults (Fairbairn P, et.al., 2022).

Drawing from 14 studies (involving 4913 participants aged 60-70), the review found that multi-nutrient formulas containing both B vitamins and omega 3 fatty acids significantly improved global cognition and episodic memory compared to a placebo.
This implies that these nutrients could potentially interact to prevent cognitive decline in the elderly.
When taking omega 3 fatty acids, choose a formula which contains high amounts of EPA and DHA, the most important active ingredients in omega 3 fatty acids. Also take a high-quality B-complex or Multivitamin formula which includes the type of B12 (methyl cobalamin) important for the nervous system. Ideally it should also include the metabolite of folic acid, 5-methyltetrahydrofolate.
