Engaging in physical activity may help reduce the risk of vascular cognitive impairment, including vascular dementia, according to a new analysis of previous studies (Vitor J, et., al., 2023).


Vascular cognitive impairment, which is a spectrum of cognitive decline caused by vascular issues, is a common issue worldwide.


In a review of 9 studies involving 6786 individuals, researchers found that higher levels of physical activity were linked to a decreased risk of vascular cognitive impairment over time.


Increasing your level of physical activity doesn’t have to take a lot of time if you use the principle of high intensity short interval training. 2-3 minutes can be as effective as 1 hour of lower intensity activity, see prior articles.
