In this research the effect of oral glutathione supplementation was studied in obese subjects with and without type 2 diabetes (Søndergård ST, et.al., 2021).
Insulin sensitivity and markers of oxidative stress were measured at the beginning of the study and after 3 weeks. The participants were given either 1000mg daily of glutathione or a placebo.
After 3 weeks the researchers found that whole body insulin sensitivity increased significantly in the group that took the glutathione.
The researchers stated that oral glutathione supplementation improves insulin sensitivity in obese people with and without type 2 diabetes.
When taking glutathione take it in a form like S-Acetyl Glutathione that easily gets into the cells.
