In this study the researchers investigated the association between Dietary Inflammatory Index and sex hormones in a large male population (Zhang C, et.al.,2021).
Males aged 20 years old and older provided a 24-hour dietary intake history and underwent serum sex hormone testing.
This is what the reserchers found.
Dietary Inflammatory Index tertile 3 (the most pro-inflammatory) had a 29.6% higher odds of testosterone deficiency than those in tertile 1.
A low inflammatory diet would be a diet high in nutrients with a low glycemic index.
Include a lot of vegetables which have been shown to reduce inflammation, and include beans or lentils in your meals since they have a very low glycemic index.
Avoid fast food (junk food).
