We have all heard that fiber is healthy, but we may think of fiber intake mainly beneficial for the colon. Fiber can however be beneficial for many reasons.

The reviewed research included results from several studies evaluating fiber intake and breast cancer risk (Aune D, et al. 2012). Results from both soluble and insoluble fiber were included.

It was concluded that there was an inverse association between dietary fiber intake and breast cancer risk. The benefit was related to soluble fiber not insoluble.

Healthy meals will not only provide plenty of fiber of the right kind, but also a high nutrient content. Meals like that will provide many health benefits, but also result in weight loss if you need to lose weight. It is interesting that specific foods have been documented to increase fat loss.
