I have written before on the negative effects on health of sugar sweetened beverages. Those of you who have consulted with me have also heard me explain that sugar and high glycemic index foods will increase the risk of chronic diseases from cardiovascular disease to cancer.
I have also said if you were to only implement one thing to improve your health, it should be avoiding sugar and foods that will elevate the blood sugar high.

This will take you to that segment of 60 Minutes covering an interview with two doctors involved in research on sugar and the destructive effects it has on our health. One of these doctors went as far as calling sugar toxic. It was an interesting interview which will make you think twice before you reach for something sweet and it may help you change your habits to the better.
