Vitamin D has been associated with a variety of health benefits. The study reviewed investigated the connection between vitamin D and the risk of falling (Murad MH, et al. 2011). Losing coordination, balance and falling are more common as we get older. The research included 45,782 participants which were pooled from 26 eligible trials.
The results showed that vitamin D use was associated with a statistically significant reduction in the risk of falls.
This was found when vitamin D was combined with calcium. Calcium is a very important mineral, but there are also several other minerals which are important for a variety of reasons. Instead of taking only calcium and vitamin D, it is more beneficial to take a formula which also includes the other important minerals.
The BMJ formula is such a formula which contains vitamin D and calcium in addition to the other important components for both bone and joint support. It now comes in easy to swallow capsules.
