Glutathione is your primary defence against ageing. It’s a very effective antioxidant that the body makes to protect itself from free radical damage (oxidative stress). It can help repair cells that are damaged by stress, radiation, pollution, infection, and other illnesses. Research has established increased oxidative damage from lipid peroxidation as well as protein, DNA and RNA oxidation in areas of the brain as early events in Alzheimer’s disease (Markesberry WR, Lovell MA, 2007).

Research suggests that berberine provides benefits for Alzheimer's disease by limiting the formation of extracellular amyloid plaques and intracellular neurofibrillary tangles (Cai Z, et al., 2016). This study showed that compared to the placebo group, the treatment group which took berberine daily for 3 months, had a reduction in fasting blood glucose of 20% and a postprandial glucose decrease of 25.8%. HbA1c decreased from 7.5% to 6.6%. Triglycerides decreased by 35.9%, and cholesterol by 18.1%. LDL (low-density lipoprotein), the so-called bad cholesterol was reduced by 21.1%. Berberine did not only reduce blood glucose, but berberine also showed impressive improvements in cardiovascular risk factors. A review of 10 studies showed that both BMI and waist circumference decreased in participants taking berberine (Xiong P, et.al.,2020). The researchers in this study investigated how metformin, a drug, and berberine a plant substance, separately may affect and slow down the ageing process (Han X,et.al., 2016).

Bone loss and osteoarthritis are extremely common problems as we get older, but they can in most cases be avoided if we support bone formation and cartilage with the nutrients these tissues need. Better Fish Oil
The anti-inflammatory effects of Omega 3 fatty acids are well known. Most people that eat a western diet can benefit from increasing the intake of Omega 3 fatty acids since their diet usually contains too much Omega 6 from vegetable oils and saturated fat from dairy and other animal sources. Research has shown many health benefits from Omega 3 fat intake. Several studies are showing evidence that the protective benefits of fish oil prevent death from heart disease (Daviglus ML, et al. 1997, Burr ML, et al. 1989, Singh RB, et al. 1997). The anti-inflammatory effects of Omega 3 fatty acids are well known. Several studies on rheumatoid arthritis using supplements with EPA/DHA, which is found in fish oil, have been shown to decrease morning stiffness and reduce the number of painful and swollen joints (Kremer JM, et al. 1985, Kremer JM. 1996, Kremer JM, et al. 1995, Kremer JM, et al. 1990). Omega 3 fatty acids have been found to help cognition (Malik A, et.al., 2021). After 30 months, the participants taking EPA and DHA had significantly better scores than the control group for verbal fluency, language, and memory, including 2 tests of visual-motor coordination.
