Plant Protein and Women's Health: Lessons from a 30-Year Study with Nurses

Eating the right amount of protein, especially from plants, might help women stay healthy as they get older.

This information comes from a big study of nurses who reported what they ate and how they felt over 30 years (Korat AVA, et.al., 2024).

They found that women who ate more plant protein were more likely to be healthy as they got older. This means they didn’t have serious diseases, mental health problems, or trouble moving around.

Swapping animal based protein including dairy protein for plant protein made a difference. So, adding more beans, nuts, and whole grains to your diet might be a good way to aim for a healthier future.
