Common food increases risk for Parkinsons disease When researchers at Harvard School of Public Health investigated the potential association between diet Parkinsons disease, they found that dairy intake may play a role (Chen H, et al. 2002). In this study they investigated two large groups of men and women in which 210 cases of Parkinsons disease in men and 184 cases in women. Their results suggested that a higher intake of dairy products increase the risk for Parkinsons disease in men, but not in women. No other food groups were associated with increased risk in either men or women. Some few years later in a very resent but similar study, the researchers investigated the association between intake od dairy products and the risk of Parkinsons disease in 57,689 men and 73,175 women (Chen H et al. 2007). During the follow-up between 1992 and 2001 a total 250 men and 138 women were identified with Parkinsons disease. A higher risk amoung dairy products consumers were found in both men and women. The researchers stated that their data suggested that dairy consumption may increase the risk of Parkinsons disease, particularly in men.
